Topeka Foundry & Iron Works Co. was founded in 1876 by John Masching. It is one of the 6th oldest businesses in Topeka. In the early 1900’s Glenn Bybee brought his knowledge of steel and fabrication to the company after working for several years at Capital Iron Works. At that point in time, he partnered with John Masching, to form Topeka Foundry & Iron Works Co. Currently Topeka Foundry & Iron Works Co. employs 65 people, many of whom have been with the company 35 years or more. On January 1. 2017, the Topeka Foundry & Iron Works Co., merged with HME of Topeka, KS, and its 300 plus employees. It is the hope of the sitting administration today, of Topeka Foundry Iron Works Co. that this merger will allow for continued growth for another 141 years.
